E te iwi Māori kia mataara mai, Te Tiriti o Waitangi is under threat. But this country was not settled by conquest; it was settled by consent.
As a people we are currently punch drunk from the constant hits of this anti-Māori Government’s racist agenda.
They’ve been punching Māori since they took office.
The attack on Māori wards—punch.
Demolishing of the Māori Health Authority—punch.
Removing section 7AA—punch. Rushing through the Fast-track Approvals Bill—punch.
Cutting Matariki funding—punch.
Erasing te reo Māori from public service—punch.
Cutting supply and capability of Māori housing—punch.
The establishment of youth bootcamps—punch.
Gang legislation that will disproportionately target Māori—punch.
Ignoring tribunal and High Court rulings—punch.
And yet to come, the Treaty principles bill—punch.
We will no longer allow this anti-Māori agenda to run its course, we will hold this government to account and demonstrate the resilience our tīpuna have demonstrated time and time again.
Toitū te Tiriti.
